The 2024 Graduate Student Symposium (GSS - open to undergraduates) will take place on Tuesday, October 29, prior to the start of the NAWEA / WindTech Conference.
The Symposium aims to provide an enriching and interactive platform for undergraduate and graduate students, helping them hone their communication and networking skills alongside other students and leaders in the fields of wind energy technology, research, and innovation.

After the GSS, students are encouraged to attend the Industry-Student Networking Event at the Zimmerli Art Museum, followed by a special Ghost Tour of the Rutgers College Avenue Campus.

For the first time in NAWEA / WindTech Conference history, the Local Organizers received an NSF Conference Award to support the GSS.
The grant will support a GSS Travel Award Program, providing funding for travel and lodging expenses for students living 200 miles away from New Brunswick, NJ.
Update: Travel Award application period is now closed.
The funding will also be used for the facilities and catering expenses associated with the GSS.
Also for the first time, the grant will enable us to bring two speakers from Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science (Stony Brook University) to conduct an interactive science communication training session.
The organizing committee has secured limited spots at the Rutgers Day Care Center for conference attendees with children between the ages of 2.5-4.5 years old. The cost of care is $75 per day per child, and includes meals (i.e., breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks) during the operating hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
In addition to the Day Care Center, Rutgers partners with Care.com, and offers a vetted list of caregivers for both childcare and eldercare, providing subsidized in-home and in-center care options for community members and guests. More information can be found here: https://uhr.rutgers.edu/worklife-balance/wellness-programs/supporting-your-family
Please indicate your interest in family care support on the conference registration form. More details will follow - we are committed to doing our best to cater to your needs.
