Presentations, Posters and Optional WES Journal Submission

Oral Presentation Guidelines

  • Presentations should be less than 15 minutes long. It is critical that the speakers do not exceed this presentation time.
  • There will be a 5-minute period for questions, and for transition to the next presentation.
  • Please bring your laptop to present. (The conference will not provide laptops.)
  • The conference venue will provide common video connection cables (i.e., hdmi, usb-c, and vga); however, please bring your own cables for redundancy.
  • The conference venue will provide a clicker to advance slides; however, please bring your own devices for redundancy. Please make sure to bring a usb adapter if necessary for your device – also for redundancy.

Poster Presentation Guidelines

  • Posters should be 30" by 40". The printed poster should not be smaller or larger than 30" x 40". (Portrait or landscape formats are both fine.)
  • A foam poster board  (with poster number)  will be provided to mount your poster on. Pushpins will be provided to fasten the poster on the foam board.
  • Posters are numbered by the Oxford technical program system (https://virtual.oxfordabstracts.com/event/32109/program). Simply click on the Wednesday 17:30 session, and you will find your poster number.
  • Posters will need to be hung up by the presenter in the Atrium on Wednesday (10/30), between 3 pm and 5 pm.
  • Reception will begin at 5:30 pm. Poster presenters should attend the reception.
  • Poster evaluation will begin at 6:15 pm and end by 7:45 pm. Presenters and judges should be present during this period.
  • The posters can remain in the Atrium until the end of the Conference. The posters should be collected by the owner before they leave the Conference. Uncollected posters will be disposed of.

Invitation from Wind Energy Science (WES) Journal by EAWE

Authors of accepted presentations are encouraged to submit full paper(s) for review and possible publication in the NAWEA '24 Special Issue in the Wind Energy Science (WES), the flagship journal of the European Academy of Wind Energy (EAWE).

Submission to the WES - NAWEA '24 Special Issue can be done here. Please note the details below.

Conditions by WES:

  • All submitted papers will be peer reviewed according to the journal's high-quality standards.
  • A 27% discount (for a maximum of 20 pages) on the publication charges will be automatically applied to all accepted papers. The discount is sponsored by EAWE and by the journal publisher Copernicus.
  • The offer is valid for papers based on work presented at NAWEA/WindTech 2024 and submitted to the journal at the latest one week after the end the conference (Friday Nov. 8, 2024).

Why WES?

  • WES is an open-access international scientific journal publishing high-quality fundamental and pioneering research, reviews and commentaries in wind energy. The Editorial Board is composed by leading scientists in their fields, supported by a large pool of expert reviewers, together ensuring the highest scientific standards.
  • Divided into six thematic areas, the journal covers all main fields of wind energy: wind and the atmosphere; fluid mechanics; dynamics and control; wind technologies; materials and operation; electrical conversion, integration and impacts. Soon after submission, papers under review are posted on the journal website. This means that papers are visible and accessible immediately after submission and throughout the entire peer-review process.
  • WES has a unique interactive public peer-review process. In addition to the expert referees nominated by the Editorial Board, readers too can post comments to a manuscript submitted to the journal. By taking an active role in the review of new research, readers can help improve scientific quality and foster discussion and transparency.
